Documentary project that portrayed the daily lives of nine rural black communities - known as quilombos or mocambos - in the states of São Paulo, Goiás, Bahia, Pernambuco, Maranhão and Pará. The daily lives of the pioneering communities in the mobilization for the recognition of their historical and cultural value. The work was published in book form by Anima in 2004 and received important awards, was featured in national and international magazines and exhibited in different capitals of Brazil, the USA, Europe and Africa.
